Hello Ridgeview Families!

I love being the principal of Ridgeview! This is my seventeenth year at Ridgeview and in the Bloomington School District. Let me tell you a little bit about myself…

I grew up in Fridley, Minnesota with my three younger sisters, Mom and Dad. Our family enjoyed going to the cabin on weekends each summer. My Dad was an elementary principal in St. Anthony Village and New Brighton. He sure was a terrific example to me of a great educational leader! I grew up skiing on the hills in our back yard and the small ski areas around town. I now share this amazing sport with my wife and 3 children. We all ski and snowboard each winter at Buck Hill, where almost the entire family either coaches or teaches skiing, as well as taking our yearly trips out west to the mountains.

I have been married for 27 years. My wife, Laurie, also works in the Bloomington School District as a first grade teacher at Normandale Hills. Our three children seem to be growing way too fast! Our son Jon just graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato where he received his teaching degree. Currently, Jon is pursuing a teaching position in the Metro area. Jon and his wife Stephanie, who is also a teacher in Bloomington, live near Lake Nakomis in South Minneapolis. Our son Luke is a Junior at Hamline University and will be getting married in August. Our daughter Hannah is attending Normandale Community College after going to school in Germany for the 2011-12 school year.

In my free time I enjoy reading, running, working on home building projects or just hanging out with my family.
